Since the HIV epidemic exploded onto the scene in the 1980's, the need for comprehensive care for those infected was obvious. As the number of infected people grew, the burden placed on HIV care programs grew as well. Thankfully, the U.S. government realized the need and understood that it would take skilled medical professionals and a lot of money to properly care for the growing HIV population. So in August of 1990, Congress signed the Ryan White CARE Act and in doing so created a system of services that has improved the quality and availability of health care services for people living with or affected by HIV and AIDS.Related Information

I have to say THANK YOU to Ryan White and the outstanding staff. If it wasnt for Ryan White i would never be able to help myself with my HIV medical expenses and or medication. I been positive for 10+ years and use Ryan White off an on when i dont have private insurance. THANK YOU AGAIN FROM THE ROOT O MY HEART AND SOUL. KEEP YOU THE GOOD WORK!
My brother was just told that Ryan White Insurance no longer covers HIV/AIDs medication. Is there another option. The doctor told him the only option is just to die.
There is no Ryan White insurance. Ryan White dollars are provided by the federal government for all aspects of HIV care. The drug assistance program is geared specifically to pay for HIV related drugs. Depending on the state your brother lives in, some drug assistance programs have waiting lists. Also, if he is already on the states drug assistance program, he has to reapply each year. I would suggest he chat with an AIDS services organization in his community to see what resources are available to him. Good luck.
I CAN NOT believe that people still think that way. Any one that is suposed to be educated enough to know the ways that you can contract HIV/AIDS. People like him make me sick to my stomach. There is no difference between me and any one who has HIV. My daughter is HIV postive and she did not get it because of her actions she was raped by a man when she was 5 years old that knew he was positive.
I was talking about the doctor that said they needed to be put on an island. Sorry if I confused any one
