Obama is a Supporter of Needle Exchange

Needle exchange has been proven to be an effective HIV prevention technique. Yet, the federal government continues to prohibit and federal funding of needle exchange programs. But with the the election of Barack Obama, there is hope that needle exchange may get the support prevention specialist so desperately need. Obama is on record saying that he realizes the importance of needle exchange in slowing the epidemic. Time will tell but hopefully Obama will stand by his declaration and needle exchange will get a much needed boost in funding from good old Uncle Sam.More Needle Exchange Information
I think it is immediately important to point out that Obama’s budget does not lift the ban on federal funding for needle exchanges, despite his campaign pledge. Obama is NOT a supporter of Needle Exchanges, or at least federally funded ones. Please take note of this.
