A new study published in the journal Cancer reports that frequent or long-term marijuana use significantly increases testicular cancer risk. Researchers at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center have found that marijuana use increases testicular cancer risk by 70 percent. Those who use marijuana weekly or who have had exposure to marijuana since adolescents had twice the cancer risk when compared to men who never smoked marijuana. Researchers say that while their study wasn't the first to suggest a man's lifestyle contributed to their risk of testicular cancer it is the first to look at marijuana use as a risk factor.

A very interesting finding. I wonder whether the cancer risk was an effect of the marijuana per se, or an effect of smoke inhalation. As some medical marijuana can be taken orally, this may be an important consideration.
