Missing an Appointment Can Be Detrimental to your Health

According to a study published in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases people who missed one quarterly visit to their HIV specialist increased their risk of death by almost 50 percent and those that missed three quarterly visits nearly doubled their risk. HIV medications have made it possible for people to live longer with HIV however regular visits to an HIV specialist are necessary to realize the full affects of the potent HIV therapies. It has always been assumed that missing clinic visits made it harder for people to live with HIV but this study is the first that proves it scientifically.
