In 1988, a group of San Francisco residents looked for a positive way to express their grief in light of the HIV epidemic. What was envisioned was a serene and natural setting, filled with nature's beauty suitable for memorial services, private mourning and rememberance. The National AIDS Memorial Grove was born.
