Target Pharmacy Offers 30-day supplies of hundreds of generic drugs for only $4. Target says this will especially help those senior citizens that fall into the "Medicare doughnut hole," meaning they have significant co-pays despite having Medicare Part D prescription coverage. Competitors such as CVS Pharmacy says the Target plan is meaningless because the drugs on their list are old, less frequently used medications or the listed drugs already have minimal co-pays associated with them. You can find the Target list on their website.*
Wal-Mart / Sams Club This plan is very similar to the Target plan. Over 300 drugs representing 27 percent of Wal-Mart's prescription drug sales are now available for $4 for a 30-day supply. Like the Target Plan, CVS argues that the Wal-Mart offering is little more than a gesture and will not help most senior citizens. The Wal-Mart list can be found on their pharmacy website.*
