When it comes right down to it, whether or not to get an HIV test is up to you. There are several factors that determine whether you get an HIV test or not. How do you know when to get an HIV test? Do you know when to get an HIV test? Let me show you when it's time to get HIV tested with these questions.

Here's How:

  1. Have you had sex without knowing for sure that the person you had sex with did not have HIV?
  2. Have you had sex with someone you know has HIV or AIDS?
  3. Have you had a disease passed on by sex, like genital herpes or syphilis? Having these diseases makes it easier to get HIV.
  4. Have you had sex with a man or woman who has had multiple sex partners?
  5. Have you had sex with someone who has used injectable drugs?
  6. Have you ever shared needles or "works" to take drugs?
  7. Have you ever had sex with a man who has had sex with another man?
  8. Have you ever paid a man or woman to have sex with you?
  9. Have you ever had unprotected vaginal, anal, or oral sex?
  10. Have you had a blood transfusion or received blood products prior to 1992?

Tips:

  1. If you answered YES to any of these questions, you should have an HIV test.
