Food Assistance Program (FAP)

Eligibility Requirement:

  • Have less than $2000/mos in countable assets if under 60.
  • Able-bodied 18-49 year-olds limited to 3 months of benefits in 3 years unless employed or participated in work program 20 hrs./wk. or do community service 25hrs. per month.
  • May continue with documentation regarding disability from your doctor or if you receive MA, SSI, SSDI, or SDA.

Benefit Amounts:

$10-$139/mos for one person. Amount depends on household size, income, household expenses and out-of-pocket medical expenses.

Payment Intervals:

Issued monthly on electronic benefits transfer card.

Duration of Coverage:

  • Certified for 3 months to 2 years at which time the case is reviewed.
  • If you get SSI/SSDI you can be certified for two years, unless changes occur.
  • Earned income cases are certified for three months and some are cases certified for one month only.

Contact your local case manager or your local Family Independance Agency office (FDA).
