Serzone (nefazodone)

Classification:
Serotonin and norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitor antidepressant
Form:
  • 100mg, 150mg, 200mg, and 250mg tablets
Usual Dosage:
  • 100mg twice per day not to exceed 300mg twice per day
Instructions:
  • Can be taken with or without food.
Side Effects to Report to Your Doctor:
  • suicide thoughts
  • problems urinating
  • insomnia or somulence
  • nausea / vomiting /diarrhea
  • dry mouth
  • headache
  • dizziness
  • sexual dysfunction (ejaculatory delay)
  • unusual dreams
Precautions:
  • *Can cause an increase in suicidal thoughts*
  • Use with caution in people with heart disease
WARNING - PLEASE NOTE:
On May 20, 2004, Bristol-Myers Squibb discontinued the sale of Serzone due to the drug being linked to severe liver damage and liver failure.
