The first question I hear when telling someone they are HIV infected is how long will they live. My answer has always been that there is no answer...life expectancy varies from person to person and is impacted by a myriad of factors. But now researchers at Emory University's Center for AIDS Research says their studies indicate people live on average 24 years after being diagnosed with HIV. yea… There is no doubt that homosexuality contributes greatly to the spread of HIV. Unfortunately, there is alot of truth behind that statement.. I am HIV+. I am a strait white female, and have never used intravenous needles… Am i Gay??? and I did contract HIV from my cheating fiance.. not fair at all- especially when I was always one to use protection…But with the promise of marriage, I trusted someone who knowingly had HIV. I have spoke to my doctor and he said 90% of the shit you read about HIV and life expectancy on the internet is total BS. An infected person- if practice healthy habits, can live just as long as an HIV- person. The medication that is out today can supress the virus from evolving to AIDS for a very long time. More people out there are infected than you may think, and it is a tabu topic in society still, and therefore you will never hear people openly talk about their infection.. I got tested immediately after i ended my previous relationship (i always do when considering new partner) and luckily i did or i would have infected my new boyfriend. A person’s life is “ruined” only if they throw in the towel and accept defeat. I know a young lady living with hiv for 17 years, she has two children 16yrs and 6yrs not one of the kids are hiv positive and she is not on any treatment for the past years can u because that. She is still living a health and happy life

I think we may have a distorted view of God and His love. God does not hate homosexuals. He loves them enough to send His only Son as an atonement sacrifice for them too. He DOES hate homosexuality. Our God is not a humanist, He isn’t an “anything goes, don’t judge” God. Sin is sin and He, being so holy, cannot tolerate sin. And homosexuality is a sin. That’s why He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. But, that does not mean condemnation. Freedom from sin is possible, it’s a free gift that Jesus paid for on the cross. I have a friend who told me just last night that she is HIV+. We both cried. She got it from a man who sexually and emotionally abused her for two years. He may have possibly cut her life on earth short, but my friend is a child of God. Her eternal life with her Father in heaven cannot be cut short or taken away from her.

God’s just not part of this picture folks. God will neither stop you getting infected nor will he save you or help you if you do. Because He’s just not out there. The only things that will save you from HIV and Aids are safer sex and top quality medicines and research.
HIV is a serious disease in the most places on Earth, specifically the US. It is spread through ignorance mainly, contrary to popular belief. By ignorance, I mean not properly understanding how it is physically spread. Some people believe that homosexuality is the main cause of it. This is untrue. While homosexuals have a higher risk of infection, any heterosexual couple that partakes in anal sex has the EXACT SAME RISK, because the blood vessels in the anus are incredibly prone to breaking as it is. I also know for a fact that not EVERY homosexual person will be infected with this disease. It can only occur if one or the other has it in the first place. It does not magically appear when two homosexuals have sex. They ONLY have a higher risk of spreading if one or the other has it. There are ways to protect yourself from this disease. HIV is also spread through needles, but not drug needles alone. While drug needles are a major factor aside from unprotected sex, they are only dangerous if they are REUSED needles. If someone uses a needle also used by someone HIV positive, they have a high chance of catching the virus. But, they have the exact same chance of catching it in a tattoo parlor. Some tattoo artists don’t use a different bottle of ink for each new client, due to the costs of doing so. If any of you are interested in a tattoo, make sure your artist opens each new color IN FRONT OF YOU, and be sure that the needle has never been used on any other person by watching him or her open the package in front of you. And for those of you wondering why we don’t just sterilize the needles, you would have to get the heat high enough to actually melt both the metal and the plastic before it reached a temperature that would kill the virus. Let’s see… Another way to spread the disease is breast milk, from mother to child. Not many people know that. Ladies, if you know you’re HIV positive, and you are pregnant, don’t be scared, just take the necessary precautions to keep your child from getting the virus. Your doctor will help you and give you advice.
That’s all I can really think of. Look, for those of you poor souls out there who do have this disease, I don’t pray to any specific deity, nor do I believe in any such thing, but I will put out there the fact that I’m rooting for you and I hope that you can survive through as much as it allows you. Hopefully, if there is someone out there, they’ll hear my cry and give you the strength you need. Stay up and alive for as long as you can. This virus has dodged our attacks for a while, but we WILL find some kind of help, if not a cure. Our technological and medical advances WILL discover some kind rescue for all of you. I think the only other thing I can say is that, yes people live for up to 24 years with HIV. But most of those years are just HIV… the last 4 may be with AIDS. Once you are diagnosed with AIDS, it IS a death sentence unfortunately as of now. Sorry to tell you that.
HIV is a diasease that you could get infected when you have an unprotected sex. It is people like you that keep people from getting tested and helped and kept from spreading the virus. wether or not the life style is as god intended is irrelavent. and that is not the statistics. People are going to have sex without a condom. That falls under the responsability of the person having sex. when going on the god thing? I am a 25 year old single mother of a 1 year old. I just found out a man I have been seeing is HIV pos. He just now tells me after we had sex 4 times. Condom broke twice. I am scared out of my mind. I am putting this all in Gods hands. I just pray I am not infected.
