Definition:
An HIV medication belonging to the class of drug known as non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTI) first approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1996. This medication is used in combination with other HIV medications. This medication is used in HIV positive patients 2 months of age and older.
