Classification: Maraviroc is the first HIV medication from the new class of HIV drugs called CCR5 inhibitors. By blocking the CCR5 attachment receptor on the CD4 cell, Maraviroc prevents HIV from attaching to the CD4 cell, thus preventing HIV from infecting the cell. Form:
